Kitsap County’s Parks Department has the challenge of balancing the desires of county residents for active and passive recreation along with protection of natural spaces. KEC urges residents to speak up for an appropriate balance of these needs with special attention to protection of the needs of wildlife such as their habitat, corridors for movement, and building on past practices that have been successful.

Park enthusiasts gathered at the Eglon Forest Park for its official opening. Commissioners Rolfes, Walters, and PG S'Klallam Tribal Elder unveiled the new sign to applause.
The recent Planning Commission meetings have been very impressive, with increased engagement, knowledgeable input, and discussion on the part of the Commissioners.
I am concerned that the 2025 PROS Plan before you is a complete replacement that jettisons all the good work that has gone before, it is not the Update expected.
