KEC educates the public about the importance of farmland, agriculture, and rural character, enabling them to make powerful statements to policy-makers and others about the need for protecting these lands and economies.

Local farmers, with WSU Kitsap Extension & Kitsap Conservation District have launched Kitsap Farmers Fighting Hunger, directly funding local produce for food banks.
The KC Board of Commissioners (BOCC) is holding a public hearing on the Year of the Rural documents on Nov 10, 5:30pm. KEC submitted this letter to the BOCC.
