23rd Legislative Candidate Eco-Forum & Artist Feature
This month’s session will feature a panel discussion of candidates running for State Representative 1 and 2 for Washington’s 23rd Legislative District. Candidates include incumbents Greg Nance and Tarra Simmons, along with challengers Lance Byrd and Daria Ilgen. Kristin Lillegard is also running for State Representative 2 but is unavailable to attend this session.

State Representatives play a key role in shaping state policy, including environmental legislation and budget decisions that directly affect Kitsap County communities and natural resources. Incumbent Representatives Greg Nance and Tarra Simmons currently serve on legislative committees addressing issues such as natural resources, transportation, education, technology, health, and public safety. The forum will be moderated by KEC’s Martha Burke, who is also a board member for the League of Women Voters.

Artist feature: Dr. Edward Frodel - Mindful Moment
This session of KEC Presents will also feature Educator, Humanist, Holistic Healer, and Artist, Edward Frodel, PhD. Drawing on his art and life experiences, he will share reflections on humanity’s deeply interconnected relationship with the natural world and his perspective on the profound shift in consciousness he believes humanity is currently experiencing.
Dr. Frodel is also known as the principal founder of West Sound Academy, an independent college-preparatory school serving students from across the Kitsap Peninsula. Through his vision, leadership, and perseverance, a small community effort grew into a thriving educational institution known for academic excellence, critical thinking, and character development.
