In Part 2 of our 3-part series on Water, we take a closer look at the hydrology

and sustainability of our local water supply. What is the impact of climate and land use on streamflow and the unique challenges for the county including many disconnected small drainages, heterogeneous small aquifers, and groundwater and rainfall dependence? What are the current pressures on Kitsap water management and the science behind water resources locally? Gaining a better understanding of, and more responsible stewardship of our local watersheds.

Arborwood DA Extension

The Arborwood Development Agreement Extension n will be formally presented as a resolution for approval at 5:30p public meeting ( 2 minute public comments allowed ).

Background - Arborwood Development is a 751-unit hi-density sub-division in Kingston, Wa, off S.Kingston Rd. The original 15-year Development Agreement, vested to outdated code, was due to expire in March 2025, but has been in negotiation between the County and the developers - Pulte Homes and Taylor-Morrison, to reach an agreement.

By Amendment, this new agreement would functionally extend the timeframe, complies with some current code, and includes exceptions. Notably an increase of over 7,200 vehicle trips per day on S. Kingston Road is anticipated.
