We are very pleased that the Kitsap Board of County Commissioners has voted to
Keep Kitsap Green
,
by protecting rural Kitsap from large-scale residential overdevelopment.
You may have probably already heard the news through the grapevine - at 1:20 pm, June 23, 2025, the Board of County Commissioners decided, after hearing public testimony for nearly 3 hours, in a 2/1 vote, to
approve the amended reclassification docket
, thereby
removing the 14 Rural Residential Rezone Requests
from further consideration.
Commissioner Rolfes clarified that this hearing was on the rezone applications only and did not include the NKU proposal for recreational facilities. She ended with hope that friends divided by this issue can find a way to come back together.
